Extracurriculars

I would never have sought out dance for this little lady, but when my good friend and neighbor asked if she would like to attend with her little girl and we could carpool and its with an amazing teacher that happens to be in our ward...
I accepted.

And so glad I did.
We got her all froofed up for her first dance recital and I just about died while taking these pictures.
She was on for one minute at the very beginning...
...and one minute at the very end.
And the show was over an hour and a half long : )
But her family was there...and her moms heart just about burst.
She had the time of her life.  Between her 'minutes of showtime' she played with all her little buddies (while mom took family home and rushed right back : )
This won't be a forever thing, but it sure is amazing right now.
I love her so much.

You couldn't go from a more girly hobby such as dancing - to a more boy thing such as shooting.
Im not gonna lie...I was nervous to send this guy off with dad in the wild to hunt down some rabbits.
Never been a fan of guns.
I happened to end up with someone very passionate about them...go figure.

I was raised to fear them.
I guess my kids will be raised to respect them through many many many lessons of gun safety before actually pulling any triggers.
I know this will be the first of many hunting adventures for my 2 boys.

And whatever they do TOGETHER Im ok with.

It kinda creeps me out.

This was the big bad belt test.
He passed with flying colors.
Onto 'beginner yellow'...

These two are brothers at heart.
They spend a little time together : )
Couldn't ask for a better buddy.

UM.
Ouch.
Her instructor is very impressed with her splits.
Raegan was one of two girls testing.
Couldn't be prouder : )
She too, passed with flying colors.

If you look at the lower right portion of this picture, you will see Evans big ol' moon boot 'high-fiving' Raegans big ol' fur boot.
Clearly this was our first belt test.
The teacher stopped after 15 minutes and asked Evan if he was wearing snow mobile boots.
Everyone chuckled a little as he and Rae took them off.
I was too scared of Mr. Arnold to interrupt when they had started: )

This girl actually has quite the high kick goin' on.
Its impressive.

And these are some of Wesly's extracurriculars.
Climbs in anything that has four sides...even if she has to squeeze.
I love this shot of her tongue in work.
Shawns trait passed down.

Trying to get that other chubby leg in.

Not working...but so proud of herself nonetheless.

She races to any set of stairs she sets eyes on.
She has mastered going up...

...but of course a work in progress going down : )

Raegan has a friend at school that plays guitar.
She went to her house and gained a real liking to it...she can even play an actual chord.
After I saw that her fingers were strong enough to hold down a chord we hunted down my old guitar,
dusted it off,
and began playing.
Becca taught her "Mary had a little lamb."
I have beautiful sisters.
And Raegan has a unique bond with this one.
So...
guitar lessons here we come.
On the waiting list...
